Alworth family papers
The collection consists of two series: correspondence and photographs. This collection shows only a small segment of the Alworth family business.
American Land and Timber Company records
The collection contains articles of incorporation, May 1911; minutes of the Board of Directors; an account ledger, 1911-1929; two cashbooks, 1911-1929; a tract book describing the land owned, its location, and the amount and quality of timber; and two maps of the area. Also included are stock certificates, 1919-1920.
Arrowhead Electric Cooperative records
The collection contains annual reports, 1964-1968, and the newsletter, Hy-Line By-Line,1964-1969.
Julius H. Barnes papers
The collection contains correspondence, financial materials, articles, pamphlets, photographs, news clippings, sketchbooks, a tape recording, and miscellaneous reference materials. Most of the records originate from the period between 1940-1958 and document Barnes' financial interests and his involvement in the St. Lawrence Seaway project. Some personal correspondence is also included.
Bud's advertising scrapbooks
The collection consists exclusively of dismantled scrapbooks of the newspaper advertisements bought by Bud’s from 1946-1978 in Duluth newspapers, and an occasional mail order brochure from the shop.
Business Advertising Cards, Duluth (Minn.)
The collection consists of business advertising cards of firms which either conducted business, or were located, in the Duluth, Minnesota area.
Jay Cooke and Company records
The collection contains a copy of an 1880 “catalog of stocks, bonds, western lands, town lots and other real estate belonging to Jay Cooke and Co. in bankruptcy to be sold.” The collection also includes a business card, telegraph ciphers, copies of two notes, a catalog.
Coolerator Company records
The collection contains product advertisements with descriptions, National Electrical Manufacturers Association Standards, specifications and parts drawings, correspondence with James E. Frykdahl, Head of Coolerator's Engineering Department, and a copy of the firm's public auction.
Duluth Builders Exchange records
The collection contains a membership booklet for 1939 and 5 annuals.
Duluth Chamber of Commerce records
The collection contains two minute books; news clippings, 1933-1971; correspondence, 1890-1986; articles of incorporation and by-laws, 1902; pamphlets; and photographs.
Duluth Iron and Metal Company ledger
The collections consists of a one volume business ledger covering December 1904 through June 1906.
Duluth Linen Company catalog
The collection contains a 1936 company catalogue with descriptions and photographs of Duluth Linen Company products and prices.
Gallagher Studio photograph collection
The collection consists of identified and unidentified photographs of the Duluth area, with and without corresponding negatives, negatives without corresponding prints and post cards.
Goldfine family papers
The collection contains family and business papers, photographs, slides, one film, scrapbooks and photograph albums. The collection includes correspondence, legal documents, publications, minutes, photographs, financial reports, and news clippings for Goldfine's, Miller Furniture Company, Spirit Mountain Authority, Temple Israel, and the Goldfine family.
Heimbach Family papers
The collection consists of three photographs and one business ledger. The photographs are a portrait of William P. Heimbach, one image of Duluth and Superior lumbermen at an outing at Namekan Lake Sept 5-7, 1919, the Virginia & Rainy Lake Co., and employees of the Endion Lumber Co, about 1920. The one volume ledger is from the Heimbach Lumber Company cover March through July, 1883.
History of Business Development in Duluth oral history interviews
The interviews in this project document the history of Duluth area businesses and labor unions. Narrators comment, where appropriate, on the founding and growth of carious businesses or labor organizations, the formation of corporate policies, labor – management relations, urban renewal, union philosophy and strategy, government regulation, binding arbitrations, and the relationship of business and labor political and civic affairs.

McAlpine Logging Company journals
The collection contains account journals, cashbooks, and employee ledgers from the McAlpine Logging Company and the Lutsen Lumber Company.

The collection contains articles of incorporation, August 26, 1905; minutes of the board of directors, 1905-1920; two journals, 1905-1931; and three account ledgers, 1905-1931.
The Minnesota Woolen Company Story film
The collection consists of one 16mm film, which includes two separate productions: Wool O’ the West and The Minnesota Woolen Company Story.
John Monaghan letter
The collection consists of a letter from the Kincaid Mercantile Company Liquidating Committee concerning payment for services Monaghan gave them.
Northern Cold Storage and Warehouse Company records
The collection contains promotional material, newspaper advertisements, a news article, a financial report, storage receipts, a check and order, business letters, employment cards for Presidents and president’s death notices.
Northwestern-Hanna Fuel Company records
The collection contains a photograph album, 1902 – 1953, showing the company’s docks, apparatus, and delivery methods The photographs document changes in technology in coal handling and also include trains, lake vessels, conveyors, land transportation, coal handling in the yard, a 1914 hydraulic dump truck. The collection includes two loose photographs of their local storefronts in Duluth and Superior, price cards, 1880 – 1916, and a newsletter to company employees.
Oreck's, Inc. account ledger
The collection contains an account ledger including information on all three of the Oreck owned apparel stores located in Duluth.
