The collection contains one bound volume of 53 exterior and interior black and white silver gelatin 8x10 photographs by L. P. Gallagher from 1941 of the Carlson house and furnishings at 202 North 24th Avenue East, Duluth, Minnesota, small hand-drawn floor plans of the basement and three floors, one 5x7 photograph of the house under construction with the workmen in 1910, and a detail of an undated photograph identified as architect Robert Lobecke.

The letter concerns allegations made against Miss Kinnisch's character and confirms the Carrolls' positive experiences with Miss Kinnisch while she was employed as their domestic servant.

The Duluth ship canal was dug through Minnesota Point in 1870 to benefit the Duluth harbor.  The City of Superior, fearing the canal would change the flow of water through their ship entry, brought suit against Duluth to halt the construction. The collection contains a Circuit Court of the United States Bill of Complaint against the City of Duluth and a letter addressed to the City.
