Elguther Family papers

Abstract Collection consists of photographs, documents and papers of the Elguther family from Germany. George Elguther was an attorney who fought in World War I, and was later arrested and falsely accused of being a Communist by the Nazis in 1933. Many individuals came to his defense, eventually securing his freedom and enabling him to emigrate to the United States.
