The collection consists of photographs and newspaper clippings describing the participants and activities of the Duluth Junior College’s debate teams – boys and girls – who were national champions in 1934. The national champion team included Abraham Kaplan. Also included are clippings about competitor teams in Minnesota and other parts of the country.

The collection consists of two alphabetical series: graduates and non-graduates.

The collection consists of one 84 page fragile scrapbook with primarily unidentified and undated local news clippings and 6 photos and 1 photocopied photo.

The collection contains one scrapbook (1935-1941), one photo album (1944-1947), 8 loose photographs, (1921?-1970?) and one illustration and one typed poem pasted on to Life Magazine covers (1952).

The scrapbook consists of newspaper clippings, publicity information, correspondence, congratulatory materials, photographs, programs, travel maps and tickets, etc. The scrapbook was probably compiled by Roger Kelsey, Dean of the Duluth Junior College. The volume’s content dates between the announcement of the selection of the Duluth team through the return of the team to Duluth after the game, approximately November through December, 1948.

The collection reflects some of the basic development and operations of the Duluth Municipal Airport when Earl Olson was manager.
