The collection consists of company records and subject materials accumulated by Martin A. Goetz during his twenty-eight year (1959-1987) career with the company. Contains correspondence, minutes, reports, proceedings, audio tapes, and artifacts that document the history and activities of the AWC. The records include officers' correspondence, administrative records, AWC policies, committee minutes and correspondence, AWC conference programs, an incomplete run of the AWC Source, correspondence on procedures for being chartered and writing bylaws, and files documenting individual chapter's activities which sometimes contain local newsletters.

Auerbach Associates Market and Product Reports
Contains private consulting reports commissioned by government agencies and businesses on subjects including computer systems, peripherals, robots, software, computer input-output equipment, storage devices, terminals, magnetic tapes, optical character recognition devices, printers, punched card systems, and computer markets.
Access to reports under twenty years old is completely restricted. Additional restrictions may apply for reports commissioned by companies.
Bruce Gilchrist papers
Collection contains chronological files which contain outgoing correspondence relating to Bruce Gilchrist's duties as an officer of the ACM and AFIPS. Most of the records prior to 1965 concern ACM and those records created in 1965 or later relate to AFIPS.

From 1923-1952, the company was known as the Burroughs Adding Machine Company, and from 1953 to 1985, as Burroughs Corporation. It merged with Sperry Corporation in 1986 to become Unisys Corporation. This collection includes a full run of annual reports for the dates listed, and also contains audio tapes of the annual reports from 1977-1985.

This collection is divided into two series based on subject content and physical size. The Biography Files series includes folders on many employees at Burroughs. While a great majority of the employees represented were executives, there are also a few folders of workers from the early days of the company, including William S. Burroughs. The Oversized Files series consists mostly of William S. Burroughs' patents.

The mechanical library was essentially a set of service books that described each machine. There were variations like instruction books, symbol lists, shop tool lists, and feature prints (blueprints). These were kept by the patent department. The way Burroughs identified different machines changed over the years, and sometimes included a style #, a class #, a series #, or any combination of these.
