Abstract This report was prepared by the St. Louis County Historical Society, Duluth, Minnesota, for U.S. Bureau of Mines. The study was undertaken to inventory the pits, dumps, and tailings basins of the Mesabi Range and determine, where possible, the ages of these man-made topographic features, i.e. the date each dump or tailings basin was last disturbed by mining activity.
Scope and Contents The collection contains a final project report based upon cemetery survey forms including color snapshots, photographs, description of field method, survey form, project resources and limitations, networks consulted, project evaluation, and field work files. Field work findings are arranged alphabetically by the name of the cemetery.
