West Duluth slides
The collection consists of 127 slides on the history and development of West Duluth, including reproduced historic images and views from the 1980s likely photographed by Robert VanKleek. These slides may have been used to illustrate public presentations by VanKleek on the history of West Duluth.
West Duluth Women's Club records
The collection contains six scrapbooks. The scrapbooks hold lists of past presidents and members, newspaper clippings, announcements, programs, and a few snapshots.
West Side YMCA photographs
Collected photographs, mostly black and white, from the West Side Branch of the YMCA of Greater New York. Now located on West 63rd Street, the West Side YMCA has operated a residential program from its opening in 1896 on West 57th Street. Many of the images were taken by commercial photographers such as Herbert-Spencer, Inc., Roy Pinney, Samuel H. Gottsho, Brown Brothers, D. Richard Statile and others.
Western Auto Stores photograph collection
This collection contains 140 photographs of Duluth and 16 items of Superior, Wisconsin. All of the photographs are 4x6 or snapshots and have no corresponding negatives. A few of the photographs of Michigan street and 202 West Superior street includes signs for Western Auto Stores or Western Auto Stores Service Department.
Arthur B. White papers
The collection consists of a photograph of Arthur B. White; a 1913 Orpheum Theater calendar; photocopied pages pertaining to Duluth from The Saga of the Shufflin' Kid, by White (1940); and genealogical information about the Foote family.
William E. Wickstrom papers
The collection consists of 14 photographs of Dr. William WIckstrom’s family and John and Maria Wickstrom’s friends, as well as a written transcript of an interview by Dr. Richard Hudelson narrated by Dr. William Wickstrom about local labor history and the Carneys.
William Sloane House YMCA photographs
Collected photographic images from the William Sloane House branch of the YMCA of Greater New York, located on West 34th Street in Manhattan. The bulk of the images are from the early days of the Sloane House in the 1930s and from the WWII era, when the YMCA partnered with the United Service Organizations to provide services to people in the armed forces.
