Eudora V. Marshall Commemoration Celebration collection
Eudora V. Marshall was born in Aitkin, Minnesota in 1906, and moved to Duluth in 1924. A poet, Marshall was published in newspapers and magazines, and was one of the few black writers in the U.S. who continued to be published during the Great Depression. The collection includes materials that were generated as a result of the decision to present locally as much of Marshall’s extant work as possible.

The collection consists of articles of incorporation, bylaws, annual reports (1940, 1946, 1948, 1954), titles, leases, deeds, stock certificates, financial statements; a list of salesmen (1953); annual roundup program; photograph of George Hill, John Howe, Sig Soberg (1957), and John Hutman; business letters; promotional material; product advertisements; John Patterson correspondence; a company history; and newspaper articles about the company.

Mesabi Iron Range photograph collection
The collection consists of a group of photographs which appear to have been made by the same photographer. The photographs are of a crew of surveyors, a group of 20 men in front of a building, a group of 13 men in front of the same building, views of a mining location, the open pit mine, work being done in the mine, a water tower being built, and one shot identified as Chisholm after the fire, 1908.
Michael and Diane Gallagher family papers
The collection contains a family photograph album/scrapbook, 1912-1988, 2002; a file of biographical information and 8x10 photographs about Annabelle Freeman Gallagher Thompson's career in marketing, service on the Duluth Arena-Auditorium Board, Woman of the Year award in 1969; Perry Gallagher's career until his retirement from photography in 1978.

Mining Inspection Tour film
The collection contains one 16mm, black and white, silent film (17 min.) of a 1936 mining inspection trip and tour conducted by U.S. Steel and Ford, Bacon, and Davis, Inc. The tour included Duluth, Minnesota and the surrounding area including the iron range.
