Materials related to Alfred Vonetes and his work in the Order of AHEPA (American Hellenic Educational and Progressive Association). Included are meeting minutes, agendas, notes, correspondence, event programs, and publications of the organization.
American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (AHEPA) records
Collection contains bound correspondence pertaining to the local chapters of AHEPA for the period of 1922-1950 (Series 1). Additional organizational records including supreme convention minutes (1929-1980), convention summary minutes (1925-1981), yearbooks (1936-1981), the AHEPAN magazine (1927-1981), lists of officers, and death records were microfilmed. Selected microfilm reels were digitized in 2021 and are available under Subseries 1 of Series 2.
George J. Frangoulis collection
Collection consists of pamphlets related to war relief efforts in the United States on behalf of Greece following World War II, newspaper clippings, and conference reports (Order of Ahepa and Greek Orthodox Youth of America events). Included is also a program brochure for a celebratory dinner in honor of His Majesty, George II, King of the Hellenes, held in the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City on June 18, 1942.
