Community centers

The collection consists of correspondence, minutes from 1977, 1978, articles of incorporation, articles of incorporation for Institute of Afro-American Awareness, constitution and by-laws; an abstract from about 1972 “to marshal the resources of the black community; Urban Renewal Plan for Central Hillside Area, November 1972.

Records related to the establishment of the Hermantown Senior / Community Center, including articles of incorporation, bylaws, meeting minutes, and other documents.

This collection consists of administrative and programming materials from the Jewish Community Center of Greater Minneapolis, earlier known as the Emanuel Cohen Center and now known as the Sabes Jewish Community Center.

The collection contains minutes, reports by the relief committee which visited Club members who were ill or in need of financial assistance, correspondence, files from the credit union operated by the Club, fuel deduction lists indicating individuals who participated in the Club's program for the joint purchase of heating fuel, financial records, photographs, and architectural drawings.

The Jewish Community Center in St. Paul, which opened in 1930 first under the name of the Jewish Educational Center, began as a space for religious education and community activity programs, creating a space for the St. Paul Jewish community to come together for Jewish culture, child care, fitness, recreation and socialization.

This collection consists of the writings of William Hoffman which include manuscripts, speeches, and correspondence, as well as materials from organizations he belonged to, including the Central Community House and Neighborhood House.
