Scope and Contents The collection consists of photographs and newspaper clippings describing the participants and activities of the Duluth Junior College’s debate teams – boys and girls – who were national champions in 1934. The national champion team included Abraham Kaplan. Also included are clippings about competitor teams in Minnesota and other parts of the country.

Scope and Contents The scrapbook consists of newspaper clippings, publicity information, correspondence, congratulatory materials, photographs, programs, travel maps and tickets, etc. comprise the contents of the scrapbook. The scrapbook was probably compiled by Roger Kelsey, Dean of the DJC. The volume’s content dates between the announcement of the selection of the Duluth team through the return of the team to Duluth after the game, approximately November through December, 1948.
