Michler’s memoir describes the Saturday when fire was spread by high winds in eastern Minnesota, which was started by railroad engine sparks. Scope and Contents This collection is intended to accommodate miscellaneous, primary documents related to the October 12, 13, 1918 Cloquet-Moose Lake forest fire and its aftermath when provenance or donor information about the material is unclear or not known. It currently holds publications, reports and items from state court records, produced by state agencies, and professional photographers.
Scope and Contents The collection consists primarily of black and white and color photographs by a photojournalist employed by a Duluth newspaper. The photographs are of the city of Duluth, events, people, as well as the northeast Minnesota area primarily from 1971, 1982-1990s; many are not dated and unidentified. Scope and Contents The collection contains 8 photographs and the certificate of marriage for Frank L Cowen and Susan Bagley. Photographs depict Franklin Cowen and friends, Susan Bagley Cowen’s parents Arvin and Nancy Bagley, two interior images of the family home in Ely (1906), interior and exterior images of the Cowen & Zimmerman interior decorating business at 531 E Superior Street in Duluth, and a portrait taken by Louis Dworshak of Reginald Cowen as a child with his dog “Sonia”.

Scope and Contents Reminiscence related to two families victimized by the Moose Lake-Cloquet Forest Fire of 1918 when it burned Hermantown, near Duluth. The families were Oscar and Rosa Fichtner and Anton and Emilie Klosowsky. These people were the writer's great grand parents; her mother's family. Scope and Contents The collection consists of two photograph albums. The first contains family photos with some descriptive information in the first section of the album. These photos are of a high quality for amateur photos and include some shots taken with a Korelle Reflex camera with a telephoto lens. The second contains photos of Minnesota Power and Light installations with dates and descriptions.
