Economic development--Minnesota

The collection consist of the application for "Project Home," and related correspondence. This was a grant submitted to the U.S. Office of Economic Opportunity by the Arrowhead Economic Opportunity Agency, Inc. of Virginia, Minnesota. 

The interviews in this project document the history of Duluth area businesses and labor unions. Narrators comment, where appropriate, on the founding and growth of carious businesses or labor organizations, the formation of corporate policies, labor – management relations, urban renewal, union philosophy and strategy, government regulation, binding arbitrations, and the relationship of business and labor political and civic affairs.

The collection contains annual reports, correspondence, programs, publications, and photographs.

The collection includes annual reports, 1965-1978; a transcript of testimony by the Association before the United States Senate Sub-Committee on National Parks regarding the Boundary Waters Canoe Area, 1977; a script for an untitled slide show, 1976; and the text of “Dilemmas in Steel”, a speech by Christian F. Beukema, presented at the Association's 1977 Annual Meeting.
