The collection consists of digital recordings of interviews of Erling Jonassen by Stephanie Hemphill conducted in November 2008, focusing on his World War II experiences. The collection consists of one CD containing electronic images made from photographs and newspaper clippings. It contains photos of family members, Hotel Nettleton, zoo animals, the Duluth Zoo, amusement rides, and Onsgard Printing. It was aired June 7, 2001 as part of a week of events in Duluth, Minnesota planned by the MEMORIAL COMMITTEE. The Committee sought to commemorate the deaths of three African-American circus workers in Duluth on June 15, 1920. The victims, lynched by a mob, were Elias Clayton, Elmer Jackson and Isaac...
